Dr Chris Pickup is an academic, conservator and filmmaker currently working as an Associate Lecturer in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Lincoln. His focused research interest is in the interaction between conservation and heritage science’s analytical investigations and a heritage audience. He has worked with Nottingham Trent University's ISAAC heritage science research group in a research project investigating lost colour on medieval alabaster at Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery. He has also contributed to the discovery of the newly attributed graffiti of Sir Isaac Newton at the National Trust’s Woolsthorpe Manor. Chris uses his engagement in these projects to produce film, web and social media content to explore aspects of meaning making and public engagement.
